I enjoy the sharing that takes place with older adults. They appear open and authentic to me. I appreciate their wisdom and common sense.

Also, I am older myself, so I feel that I can understand and relate well with my clients. Why do you think online therapy is effective for seniors? Online therapy has proven to be as effective as in person therapy.

The convenience of online therapy opens up more possibilities for them, as older adults do not have to worry about transportation. How wonderful to be able to have a therapy appointment in the comfort and privacy of your own home! How do you approach therapy sessions?

I enjoy doing therapy, and in the twenty-six years I have been licensed, I have found that the best approach is to be warm, approachable, and authentic. I also feel that, when appropriate, humor is welcome in a session. What is your advice to someone who is starting therapy for the first time?
