Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 4, 2026
About this policy
This policy explains how Total Life handles consumer health data and the rights you have over it under state consumer health privacy laws, including the Washington My Health My Data Act and similar laws in Nevada and other states. It supplements our general Privacy Policy.
What we mean by consumer health data
Consumer health data is personal information that is linked to you and that identifies your past, present, or future physical or mental health. For Total Life, this can include the fact that you sought mental health support, intake information you share with us, appointment details, and the coverage information needed to bill for care.
How we collect it
- Directly from you when you contact us, complete intake, or attend sessions.
- From your interactions with our website and forms, with your consent where required.
- From insurers and partners involved in confirming your coverage and care.
How we use it
- To provide, coordinate, and bill for your care.
- To confirm your Medicare or insurance coverage.
- To meet our legal, clinical, and compliance obligations.
How we share it
We share consumer health data only as needed to provide your care (for example, with your clinician and, where applicable, your insurer), with service providers bound by confidentiality obligations, or where required by law. We do not sell your consumer health data, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising without your consent.
Your rights
- The right to know what consumer health data we have collected about you and how it is used and shared.
- The right to withdraw consent to the collection and sharing of your consumer health data.
- The right to request deletion of your consumer health data.
- The right to appeal a decision we make about your request.
How to exercise your rights
To make a request, call our care team at 1 (800) 567-LIFE or email privacy@totallife.com. We will verify your identity and respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. You may authorize someone to make a request on your behalf.
Retention and security
We keep consumer health data only as long as needed for the purposes described here or as required by law, and we protect it with administrative, technical, and physical safeguards consistent with our HIPAA obligations.
Not affiliated with Medicare
Total Life is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or part of Medicare or any government agency. We accept Medicare and Medicare Advantage plans for payment.
